Any amount helps us achieve our goals

Your donation makes a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community. Monetary donations go toward our programming, enabling us to provide the best possible assistance to those we serve.

All monetary donations $10 and over receive our thanks, along with a tax receipt. Receipts are issued promptly after the donation is received and mailed directly to you. If you donate monthly, you will receive your receipt in January.

Gently used item donations

We accept a variety of used items as donations, and many of our programs rely on your generosity to help those in need. Please refer to the list below for items that we regularly need.

The suites at our shelters are furnished with donations from the community. We welcome furniture for the kitchen, living room and bedroom and linens that are in good condition. Please call Central Avenue staff to discuss your donation, 306.763.8571 and to arrange a drop off time.

We accept clothing donations throughout the year at our various locations. We accept all clothes that still have some life in them. We are looking for babies, children and adult clothing including: coats, ski pants, hats, mitts, scarves, winter/rain boots, shoes, dresses, pants, shirts, jackets, onesies etc. Clothes should be clean, and zippers should be working.

Women and children often arrive at our shelters, with little more than the clothes they’re wearing, and with little money or no money. We provide housing and food, but we rely on donations of sanitary pads, diapers, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion, combs and brushes, etc. Likewise, people who live in emergency and transitional housing often don’t have anything left to cover hygiene products after paying for rent and food.

Your donations enable them to access items that help them feel good about themselves.

For more information, contact Central Avenue staff at 306.763.8571

Please note that the YWCA Prince Albert does not have the capacity to pick donations up.

The Homeward Bound Program is in need of quilts, heavy blankets, duvets, pillows or towels that are clean and in good shape. Certain furniture may also be accepted.

Please contact Dave or Rob at 306-922-6155 if you have any you can donate; pick-up may be possible.

Settlement Services helps newcomers to Canada settle in our community. These newcomers often come with barely more than the clothing on their backs, and require many items to start their new life in Canada. Below is a list of what is contained in a “Welcome Bag” for a newcomer family.
